Amazon AWS

Amazon's virtualization service is the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). A summary of the steps to create an `Amazon AWS <http://aws.amazon.com/>`_ virtual machine is as follows:

1. Create an Amazon EC2 instance
2. Search the Community Amazon Machine Images (AMI's) for the Anaconda or Miniconda AMI
3. Verify that you located an official Continuum Analytics AMI
4. Install.

1. Create an `Amazon EC2 instance <http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/get-set-up-for-amazon-ec2.html>`_

Open your `EC2 console <https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/>`_ and click the "Launch instance" button.

On the "Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI)" page select "Community AMIs":

2. Search the Community AMI's for the Anaconda or Miniconda AMI

Search the Community AMI's for "Anaconda" (or "Miniconda" if you prefer), then on the search results page click the SELECT button:

3. Verify that you located an official Continuum Analytics AMI

To be sure that you are using an OFFICIAL Continuum Analytics image, please verify
its AMI ID by matching it against this official list of Continuum Analytics images:

4. Install

Install your AMI with `Amazon's "Launch an EC2 Instance" instructions <http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-launch-instance_linux.html>`_.
